Posted on July 08, 2010

How many times have you wanted to attend a seminar but can’t get away from the office or shop for various reasons? Whether it be travel time, travel costs, no one to cover for you, or simply too much going on to be out for 3 hours to attend an hour training seminar.

Well you can’t stop learning and keeping your business in check just because you can’t get away.  So let us bring the education to you with our new easy, convenient Listen & Learn Business Maintenance Tele-Seminars.  Simply dial in to a special toll-free 800-number and you and all your employees if you’d like, can participate in an hour long tele-seminar.

“Our first series of seminars focuses on six business maintenance topics that any type of business should review on an annual basis,” stated Chamber President Laura Lane.  We are addressing topics such as problem solving, communications, customer service, marketing, time management, and coping with stress and change.  We are excited to have partnered with The BEST Center at Genesee Community College to present this first series of tele-seminars.”

The hour-long seminars will start on July 30th and run each consecutive Friday through September 3rd.  They run from 8:30am - 9:30am.  Participants can call in from any phone (landline or cell phone).  The fee per session is $20 regardless of how many people listen in on the call.  For example, you could center your weekly staff meetings around the call.  Just dial in and put the phone on speaker phone and your entire staff can take advantage of the session.  Feel free to sign up for one, two, three or all of sessions.  One hour a week for six weeks, is a small investment with a huge return.  Discounts are also available if you register for all six sessions.

Not ready to dial in but still want to attend one of the seminars?  Not a problem.  All of the seminars will be offered live at the Chamber office for those that would like to attend in person.  The Chamber is located at 6470 Route 20A in Perry.

Table Rock Farm Presented with the Good Neighbor Award

Posted on March 31, 2010

At the third annual Pride of Wyoming County Agriculture Dinner, 350 people came together to celebrate and recognize the important role agriculture plays in Wyoming County. The perseverance and commitment of Wyoming County farm families is impressive and an inspiration.  Farm families like the DeGolyer’s of Table Rock Farm, who were presented with the 2010 Pride of Agriculture Good Neighbor Award from Cooperative Extension and Farm Bureau.

Table Rock Farm certainly exemplifies what it means to be a good neighbor through actions such as offering neighbors coupons for free corn, personally visiting each neighbor to find out what they have going on for the season so the farm does not spread manure the day of a neighbors family reunion or party, making a personal commitment to their employees and a their dedication to the community.
