Feb 4, 2020

The Wyoming County Chamber & Tourism is pleased to announce that tickets are now on sale for the 13th annual “Pride of Wyoming County Agriculture Dinner,” scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the North Java Fire Hall from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

The Wyoming County Chamber & Tourism office partners annually with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wyoming County, Wyoming County Farm Bureau, Wyoming County Soil and Water and members of the agriculture community including farms and agri-businesses. The sell-out event celebrates and recognizes the important impact of agriculture in Wyoming County.

“The Pride of Agriculture dinner is a delightful evening dedicated to celebrating our historic agriculture tradition in Wyoming County,” said Chamber & Tourism President & CEO Scott Gardner. “We are excited to be celebrating the thirteenth year of this annual recognition event, and we take pride in our strong agricultural sector which is recognized as a leader in New York and the nation.”

The Wyoming County Chamber & Tourism office will present the 2020 Agri-Business of the Year award to the Boxler Family in Varysburg and their farming operation and businesses. This award is given annually to an agri-business that exhibits any or all of the following criteria including expansion projects, job growth, community involvement, and contributions that strengthen the agricultural industry.

For the first time, the Good Neighbor Award will be announced in advance of the dinner and will be presented this year to Jim and Sandy Brick of Perry, and the Friend of Agriculture award will be given to the Attica Partners for Agriculture.

Wyoming County Soil and Water will also join in presenting the annual Conservation Farm of the Year award to Broughton Diversified Farming, LLC in Silver Springs; the Ronald P. Herman, Sr. Partners in Conservation Award to Wyoming County Information Technology; and the Agricultural Environmental Management Farmers Partnering to Protect our Environment Award to Meeder Farms, LLC in Bliss.
