WYOMING COUNTY CHAMBER & TOURISM CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING OF THE LOFTS AT PINEWOOD

May 18, 2016

The Wyoming County Chamber and Tourism office was pleased to celebrate a grand opening and ribbon cutting with the staff of the Glen Iris Inn, elected officials, NYS Park officials and invited guests at the newly constructed Lofts at Pinewood, located adjacent to the Pinewood Lodge just above the Glen Iris Inn. The ceremony took place on May 18, 2016 at 3:00PM with a reception following the event.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting addition to the Glen Iris Inn and the fantastic accommodations that they already offer,” said Wyoming County Chamber President Scott Gardner. “The Lofts will provide a private more modern option for travelers looking for a real home away from home experience. They are well appointed and meticulously detailed with a view of the gorge that is second to none.”

The Lofts project was funded through the investment of B. R. Guest/Rich Products Corporation through their contract with the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. The 10-year contract to manage the operations of the Glen Iris Inn included a capital investment requirement and the Lofts at Pinewood are the appropriate addition to complement existing visitor accommodations. The approximate investment in the project was $450,000 with Silvestri Architects of Buffalo, NY taking the lead in design. Local companies were very involved with the project with Hulme Construction of Warsaw, NY acting as General Contractor, and Family Furniture of Perry, NY who provided many of the furnishings among others.

“There definitely is a need to increase accommodations both in Letchworth State Park and Wyoming County. This project fulfills that need is a special way and offers our guests even more options,” said Glen Iris Inn General Manager Maureen Tillotson. “The response has been phenomenal already. The Lofts are already very popular among our guests and are booking up quickly.”

“B.R. Guest has been a great partner to New York State Parks for many years in operating the Glen Iris Inn and Pinewood Lodge,” said Genesee State Park Regional Director Rich Parker. “These new accommodations offer our visitors an additional opportunity to stay in the park, to enjoy all it has to offer and with a greater level of amenities that are sure to please and impress them. We’re very happy to see this project come to fruition.”

The two new Lofts, named Eagle Hill and River’s Edge, are a higher end option within the Park – featuring a beautiful loft style townhouse with upscale amenities including beautifully decorated modern décor, a gas-log fireplace, whirlpool bath, heated floors, flat-screen television with satellite service, leather furniture, private patios, and a great view of the gorge from the second story bedrooms.

Letchworth State Park offers varied lodging options ranging from camping, cabins, guestrooms and suites at the Glen Iris Inn and Pinewood Lodge and now The Lofts at Pinewood.
